A challenge, write about the butterfly effect
Not part of my education, what education
If only, what if, questions, regrets
A lifetime of doubt, I’m not here for that
Today, tomorrow, the future
Is all that matters
What time I leave the house, the bus I catch, who I speak to along the way
Who cares?
I never expected to be a cynic, I never did
But that’s how things turned out
What if my parents hadn’t met, or my life had taken a different path
I hadn’t met my wife, my kids, my best dog
So what, does any of it matter?
Who would know, who would be any wiser
But this is serious
What if Hitler had died in the trenches or Stalin hadn’t been born
The world would be a better place, of course
But what’s the point of the question, it happened
Today, tomorrow or in the future
Just make sure it never happens again
So many decision’s every day that affect us all,
The world for years to come
Think, study, consider the consequences
But surely though in the end what will be, will be
